The Steam Autumn Sale 2026 is live and ends on October 8, 2026, at 10 a.m. Pacific (2 p.m. in Brasília). Steamworks documentation sets the window from October 1 through October 8, shorter than the summer and winter events.
What happened?
Valve opened the Steam Autumn Sale 2026 on the Steam store, with discounts on recent releases and older catalog titles. According to IGN, Resident Evil Requiem, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and 007 First Light are each 30% off. On the US list price, Requiem drops from $69.99 to $48.99, about seven months after its February 26 launch. 007 First Light, which already received the free Extended Operations DLC, sits in the same 30% band on the US storefront.
Reports from the US storefront also list Metaphor: ReFantazio at 60% off, or $27.99, and Bungie's Marathon at 40% off, or $23.99. In Traditional Chinese coverage, local outlets highlighted Monster Hunter Rise near 90% off and Persona 3 Reload at a new historic low. Prices change by region, tax and currency.
Why it matters
The Steam Autumn Sale 2026 is the first major discount window of the second half of the year on the largest PC store. Valve moved the event to early October in 2025, and the one-week format stayed. Players waiting for the Winter Sale, listed for December 17 in partner docs, can use this window for games that may not return as cheaply at year end.
IT Home recorded the opening on China's October 2 calendar and noted that the discovery queue still awards exclusive stickers. The Autumn Sale does not replace the Winter Sale: it is an extra, shorter week in an October that also packs releases such as Ace Combat 8 and Gears of War: E-Day.
