The Sony ELF-MN1 is the new compact 6-inch Spatial Reality Display announced by Sony, designed to display anime characters, avatars, and 3D objects in stereoscopic 3D without special glasses or headsets.
What is the Sony ELF-MN1?
Part of Sony’s XYN lineup, the device uses eye-tracking with an added IR sensor to generate real-time 3D images. Resolution is 1,080 × 2,160 pixels at 403 ppi — the highest density in any Sony Spatial Reality Display. It connects via a single USB-C cable (DP Alt Mode) to Windows 11 PCs, iOS, or Android smartphones.
Price and availability of ELF-MN1
Launch of the Sony ELF-MN1 is set for December 11, 2026 in Japan at an estimated market price of around 54,000 yen (roughly $340–360). Demo units will be available at select Sony Stores starting November 20. No international release date has been announced yet.
Compatibility and use cases
The ELF-MN1 works with services such as Gugenka’s HoloModels for official digital anime and game figures, plus AI chat apps and 3D viewers. The goal is to bring the “real characters on your desk” experience to everyday anime fans and spatial content creators. The 403 ppi panel delivers superior clarity for costume and expression details.
Why the Sony ELF-MN1 matters
By drastically reducing size and price compared to previous professional models (such as the 27-inch ELF-SR2), Sony makes spatial reality technology accessible to the geek audience. This could boost adoption of 3D displays for anime consumption, VTubers, and interactive AI experiences on the desktop.
