Konami brought great news for horror and action fans this Thursday (3) during its digital showcase Press Start, broadcast live worldwide. The highlights went to Silent Hill: Townfall, which received a release date and confirmed cast, and Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, which showcased brand-new gameplay.
Silent Hill: Townfall Arrives in Just a Few Weeks
The next chapter in the psychological horror franchise Silent Hill will hit stores on September 24, 2026 — meaning just over two weeks away from the presentation. During the showcase, director Jon McKellan shared behind-the-scenes details about casting the game's talent: he revealed that he chose actor Jovan Adepo, known for his role in "3 Body Problem", right after watching him in the series, and that Terry O'Quinn, the iconic John Locke from "Lost", was his top choice for one of Townfall's central roles.
The new trailer reinforced the dark and claustrophobic tone the series is known for, relying once again on a heavy atmosphere and a stellar cast to bring depth to the narrative — a strategy the franchise has successfully used in recent re-releases.
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Showcases New Weapons and Bosses
Meanwhile, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse featured a fresh batch of gameplay showcasing the abilities and weapon arsenal that protagonist Rose can equip throughout her adventure, alongside new, more challenging bosses than those seen in previous demos. The game, which had already impressed with its art direction in past appearances, is scheduled for release on October 15, 2026 — placing Konami's two most iconic horror franchises just three weeks apart from each other.
Other Press Start Announcements
The showcase also made room for other projects: Rev. Noir, a narrative-heavy action RPG slated for 2027 on PS5, Xbox, and PC; Rhapsody in Scarlet, previously revealed during PlayStation's State of Play, launching with English and Japanese voice acting; Wai Wai World Craft, a 3D level builder featuring Castlevania and Contra crossovers; an update for eFootball Kick Off! on Switch 2 introducing the Leagues mode; and Project Zircon, a deck-building roguelike with multiple endings.
With two triple-A releases knocking on the door this month and next, September and October promise to be scorching for fans of gaming's darker side — and Konami seems determined to remind the public that, aside from football, the company also knows how to build memorable nightmares.
