Shrek 2 Remastered launches November 10 with 4-player co-op and Photo Mode

Aspyr has officially announced DreamWorks Shrek 2 Remastered, an updated version of the 2004 game based on the DreamWorks film. The title launches on November 10, 2026 for $29.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

What's new in the remaster?

The original game launched for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube. The remastered version rebuilds the visuals with better textures, enhanced UI, 4K resolution and improved cutscenes. It also includes Photo Mode for creating snapshots and Cheat Mode to unlock cheats.

Co-op remains a highlight: play solo or with up to three friends in local, online or mixed mode. Players control heroes like Shrek, Fiona and Donkey in adventures through the kingdom of Far Far Away, from the swamp to Fiona's castle.

Why it matters

The remaster arrives amid strong nostalgia for 2000s movie tie-in games. With a trailer that clearly parodies the visual style of GTA 6, Aspyr acknowledges the direct competition in the November calendar, as GTA 6 launches only nine days later on November 19.

The announcement took place during the October 2026 ID@Xbox Showcase. Sources: Gematsu, IGN and official Aspyr announcement during the event.
