NVIDIA released RTX Remix 1.6 on October 23, 2026. The update to the classic PC game modding platform brings DLSS 5 with 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, Multi Frame Generation up to 6x, and native Windows on Arm support.
What RTX Remix 1.6 brings
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering in RTX Remix 1.6 uses AI to enhance lighting, materials, reflections, and shadows while considering the game's geometry and textures. Modders get artistic controls (models A/B/C, highlight and volumetric adjustments, per-material masks). Demonstrations already appear in Fallout 4 RTX and Mirror's Edge RTX projects.
There is also 5x and 6x Multi Frame Generation on RTX 50 Series GPUs in RTX Remix 1.6, a performance mode for frame generation, and experimental path tracing support for Minecraft Java Edition. The runtime requires NVIDIA driver 616.92 or higher.
Why RTX Remix 1.6 matters
RTX Remix 1.6 lets the community modernize older games (DX8/DX9 and others) with path tracing and now DLSS 5 without relying on official studio updates. Version 1.6 is available in the NVIDIA App and on GitHub (remix-1.6.1). This accelerates high-quality fan remasters of classic titles.
