Roblox AI: Over 80% of Top 100 Games Used Tools to Accelerate Creation in October

In its third-quarter 2026 earnings report, Roblox revealed that more than 80% of its top 100 games (by hours engaged) used Roblox AI tools to accelerate content creation in October. The figure marks a turning point in AI adoption on the world’s largest game platform, with Roblox AI becoming central to the creation workflow.

What happened?

According to the shareholder letter and statements from CEO David Baszucki, over the past month more than 80% of the top 100 games on Roblox (ranked by hours engaged) used Roblox AI tools to speed up production. Time spent in AI tools (including Build, Studio Assistant, and MCP integration with external models) tripled among top creators since the second quarter.

Two games created almost entirely with Roblox AI — Break and Steal an Egg and Huss Valley — broke into the platform’s top 20 by concurrent players in Q3. The Build tool (natural-language game creation, still in alpha in select markets such as New Zealand, Singapore, Serbia and Thailand) has already been used by more than 500,000 users who published over 70,000 games.

Daily asset uploads to the Roblox cloud also tripled during the month, driven by Roblox AI usage.

Why does this matter?

Roblox is the largest game-creation platform on the planet, with tens of millions of creators and more than 130 million daily active users in the quarter. When the absolute majority of the most successful games start relying on Roblox AI tools to accelerate development cycles, the impact ripples across the entire games industry.

Baszucki stated that “AI is fundamentally reshaping the gaming industry, driving a step function change in the pace at which content can be created.” The company has been investing in this direction since the launch of Roblox Studio Assistant in December 2023.

What changes in practice?

For creators, Roblox AI tools (Studio Assistant, Build and MCP connections to frontier models) drastically reduce prototyping and iteration time. Games that previously took weeks or months to reach competitive quality can now be refined in days thanks to Roblox AI.

For players, this means a steadier flow of new experiences and more frequent updates to popular titles. Roblox also reported mixed financial results for the quarter: revenue of $1.57 billion (+16% YoY), bookings of $1.70 billion (above guidance but -12% YoY) and 138 million DAUs (-9% YoY).

The company plans to expand Build to more markets by year-end and continue natively integrating Roblox AI into the creation ecosystem.
