Ratatan, the rhythm roguelike action game developed by Ratata Arts (featuring Patapon veterans) and published by Game Source Entertainment, launched its full version 1.0 on October 15, 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S.
What is Ratatan?
Inspired by Sony's classic Patapon, Ratatan puts the player in the role of a conductor commanding an army of cute creatures (Cobuns) through rhythmic commands. The game mixes roguelike elements, side-scrolling action and music to create dynamic battles. Version 1.0 adds Episodes 3 and 4, allowing players to reach the end of the story, and gathers all Dark Ratatan.
The title was in Steam Early Access since September 2025 and had its full launch delayed from July to October to polish online multiplayer and fix bugs. It supports 1 to 4 players online.
Why it matters
Ratatan represents the return of talent from one of the most beloved rhythm games on PS Vita and PSP. With colorful visuals, engaging soundtrack and accessible mechanics, it appeals to both Patapon fans and new players. The simultaneous launch on multiple platforms, including Switch 2, expands its reach.
