What happened?
Comic Natalie and Anime News Network confirm that the PV focuses on the core cast's romantic bickers and flirts. The opening theme is "Sunao Miman" ("Below Sincerity") by Fumino, while the ending is "Kawaikunai" ("Not Cute") by Yuika. Both snippets debuted directly in the trailer.
Confirmed names for this season include Masako Nozawa as the grandmaster of the combative tea ceremony school, Jun Fukuyama as Sentaro Daimonji, and Minami Tanaka as Tsubasa Kurenai. Mayumi Tanaka and Saori Hayami join in yet-to-be-announced roles. Comedian Seiya, from the duo Shimofuri Myojo, joins as a guest and promotional ambassador.
What does this mean?
The 2024 remake brought back the classic voice cast—Yamaguchi, Megumi Hayashibara (female Ranma), Hidaka, and Yamadera—under Kōnosuke Uda's direction at MAPPA. Season 3 follows this path, diving into arcs Rumiko Takahashi's manga fans have been eagerly waiting for, such as the Daimonji school and Tsubasa Kurenai.
For international fans, Netflix is the go-to platform. Seasons 1 and 2 are already streaming, and Season 3 is expected to arrive hot on the heels of the Japanese TV broadcast. No alternate platforms have been announced yet.
Why Ranma 1/2 Season 3 matters right now
With the premiere roughly three weeks away, the third PV wraps up the September marketing push: music, story snippets, and fresh cast reveals. Fans following the remake know this isn't just a rehash of the 1989–1992 anime. It's a fresh production featuring the original voice talent and updated visuals.
The official account @ranma_pr and website ranma-pr.com shared the video. Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions released the statement via PR Times, while Comic Natalie, Anime News Network, and Mantan Web covered the drop on the same day.
Context
Takahashi's original series ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1987 to 1996, with the classic anime airing in the late '80s and early '90s. The current remake is treated in Japan as a "completely new animation." Season 1 aired in fall 2024, followed by Season 2 in fall 2025.
Ranma Saotome falls into the cursed springs of Jusenkyo, turning into a girl whenever splashed with cold water. His parents arranged his engagement to Akane Tendo, surrounded by quirky rivals, suitors, and absurd martial arts techniques. Season 3 dials up the romantic chaos, introducing iconic manga characters the remake hasn't spotlighted yet.
