Alibaba unveiled the Qwen AI Glasses N1 line this Tuesday at the Cloud Summit 2026 in Hangzhou. Online pre-orders are now live in China, with official sales starting on October 13. The announcement includes the base N1 model, the N1 Pro, and an open-ear clip headphone featuring Bose audio tuning.
What Happened?
At the same event where the QwenBook tablet was introduced, the Qwen (Qianwen) brand showcased wearables designed specifically for its personal AI assistant. Coverage from IT之家 (IT Home) and Kuai Keji highlights that the N1 features a 50-megapixel camera capable of first-person POV photos, 4K video recording, and Live Photos.
The standout feature of the Qwen AI Glasses N1 Pro is its advanced eye-tracking combined with biometric iris payments. You can simply look at an object, ask what it is, and the system uses your exact gaze—rather than just the center of the frame—to pinpoint your target.
How It Works
The hardware lineup is powered by three chips: a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1, a Hengxuan BES2800, and a dedicated low-power processor exclusively for sensors. Furthermore, the N1 Pro tracks heart rate, blood oxygen levels, HRV, stress, and body temperature. The hot-swappable battery is integrated into the temple arm, allowing swaps without powering down the device.
The clip-on earphones combine Bose's ergonomic acoustic design with the Qwen assistant to offer real-time face-to-face translation, meeting transcription, and voice-activated tasks.
Why It Matters
Song Gang, head of Qwen hardware, positioned these smart glasses at the core of their Personal Agent ecosystem. Instead of waiting for smartphone taps, the device proactively perceives scenes and speech (with explicit user authorization). This puts Alibaba directly into the wearable race alongside Meta, Google, and Xiaomi—now integrated with secure payments, mapping, and the Qwen AI model.
For the tech-savvy crowd, this isn't just another camera glass. It represents a genuine test of an AI agent worn on your face all day long, using your eyes as a mouse cursor and your iris as a password.
What This Doesn't Mean Yet
There is no word yet on international pricing or availability outside of China. Detailed biometric data policies were also not fully addressed on stage. The Qwen AI Glasses N1 will compete exclusively in the Chinese market first, with global rollout depending on future expansion plans.
