Nintendo has detailed the first Halloween event in Pokémon Pokopia on Switch 2. Pumpkaboo's Sweet Surprises starts at 5 a.m. on October 17, 2026, and runs until November 1, based on the console clock.
This is separate from the expansion pack with a Game-Key Card announced for October 29 in Japan. The subject here is seasonal content inside the already released game: Pumpkaboo appears outside finished Town Centers and trades items for a temporary currency, pumpkin candy.
How it works
According to IGN and Siliconera, the player needs to have started the Bleak Beach area to use the Camouflage ability learned from Zorua. During the event, Ditto disguises itself as an object, startles Pokémon, and earns candy. That candy goes to Pumpkaboo's temporary shop at the Pokémon Center.
- Promotional images show jack-o'-lanterns, spooky trees, and a glowing ghost decoration.
- The Japanese announcement, cited by Siliconera, mentions nine types of new decorations.
- Pumpkaboo can be moved into a habitat after the event ends.
- Halloween items can be used to build a Gourgeist habitat; the evolution then appears and can move into town.
The full item list has not been published. What is confirmed is the date window, the candy currency, Pumpkaboo's role, and the path to Gourgeist.
