Pocket Mirror: GoldenerTraum is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The console edition, published by KOMODO and developed by AstralShift and VisuStella, arrived on October 22, 2026, ten years after the original Pocket Mirror, for $19.99 — £15.99, €19.99 or ¥2,970, depending on the region. The Switch version carries a 20% launch discount, bringing it to $15.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
What the game is
The game is a gothic horror RPG inspired by 16-bit classics. The protagonist is a young girl with a clouded past who wakes in a strange, dreamlike mansion with only a pocket mirror in hand. To recover her memories, players must explore twisted corridors and rooms, solve puzzles, talk to the mansion's inhabitants and uncover the truth about her identity — and about the sinister forces at work. Choices lead to multiple endings, encouraging replays.
GoldenerTraum is the remastered version of the 2016 Pocket Mirror, created in RPG Maker, which came to PC via Steam on May 19, 2023. Compared with the original, the edition adds a new ending, upgraded visuals, 2D animated sequences and other new features — the same content now reaching consoles, with no platform-exclusive features announced.
Price, platforms and contest
To celebrate the launch, KOMODO is running a Halloween illustration contest on X, themed “Halloween Party”, open until November 11. It is a fitting moment to revisit the game: its dark fairy-tale atmosphere, melancholic soundtrack and Halloween mood suit a more contemplative horror experience, centred on exploration and puzzles rather than combat.
