PlayStation Prism Collection: transparent DualSense and PS5 covers arrive in February 2027

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the Prism Collection on October 28, 2026, a line of transparent PlayStation 5 accessories: DualSense wireless controllers and console covers in Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. The launch begins on February 4, 2027, with pre-orders from November 10, 2026, and dates and availability may vary by country or region.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the collection revives the transparent aesthetic of the late 1990s, with a glossy finish and translucent materials that leave part of the hardware visible. Sony describes Flare Orange as vibrant, with a subtle rosy hue where the transparent material overlaps; Emerald Green as a deep green; and Graphite Gray as a cool, refined gray.

Prices and where to buy

Prism Collection DualSense controllers will cost $84.99, or €84.99 and £74.99, and ¥12,480 in Japan, including tax. Console covers will cost $74.99, or €74.99 and £64.99, and ¥9,980 in Japan. In the United States, pre-orders open on November 10 at 7 a.m. Pacific (10 a.m. Eastern) via PlayStation Direct; in the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, at 10 a.m. local time. Covers will be sold directly by PlayStation where available and, in other regions, in limited quantities through selected retailers.

Leo Cardoso, of Sony's Color, Material, and Finish team, said fans had been looking forward to the return of transparent controllers and that the idea was to bring back the late-'90s trend in a modern way that fits the PS5's industrial design. Satoshi Aoyagi, from the same team, highlighted the high-gloss finish on the back of the controller, which reveals the technology inside, and the metallic finish on the middle cover, which creates contrast between surfaces. This is a visual change: Sony does not announce hardware or feature changes to the DualSense in this collection.
