Petit Planet: HoYoverse Launches Final Beta for Its First Slow-Life Game

HoYoverse officially launched the Final Beta Test for Petit Planet (プチプラネット) this Sunday, September 20, 2026. This marks the company's first-ever slow-life game from the creators behind Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero. The announcement was made via a Cognosphere statement on PR TIMES and the game's official website.

Players selected through the application form, which closed on September 14 (UTC+8), should be receiving their invitations via email. This limited-access test features no in-app purchases, and all player data will be wiped at the end. An official end date has not yet been announced.

What is Petit Planet?

In the game, players take on the role of a "planet caretaker" (ホシミビト in Japanese) to build their very own miniature world: farming, fishing, crafting furniture, exploring the star, and interacting furry neighbors. Multiplayer mode is also available to play with friends. The overall vibe is a massive departure from the action combat and gacha mechanics that made HoYoverse a household name.

The global launch is scheduled for the winter of 2026 across PC, iOS, and Android, complete with cross-platform progress synchronization. Pre-registrations are now live on official app stores.

Why the Final Beta Matters

This serves as the third and final public test ahead of the official debut, following the Coziness Test (late 2025) and the Stardrift Test (April–May 2026). For the developers, it is the last major window to fine-tune game pacing, UI, and social mechanics. For fans, it represents the widest hands-on experience yet with a combat-free HoYoverse title.

Beta Launch Campaigns

In Japan, the "プチプラネットのお試し移住日記" campaign runs from September 20 to October 31: users sharing screenshots, videos, and fan art with the official hashtag can win Yogibo prizes and gift cards. Additionally, on September 25 at 8:00 PM JST, episode 3 of the official "ぷらっとぷらねっと" program drops, hosted by Matsuzawa Neki alongside voice actors Yunka and Isaki.

If you didn't get into the beta, you can still pre-register for the winter release. Full test details are available on the official website.
