miHoYo has officially announced that the free-to-play game Petit Planet will come to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. Known for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, the Chinese developer brings its first cozy cosmic life simulation title to Nintendo's console.
What is Petit Planet?
Petit Planet lets players act as Planet Tenders. They travel the Starsea aboard Oumuamua, a Starsea Spirit that listens to people's wishes, and cultivate their own planet. They plant a Luca Seed that grows into a Luca Arbor, shaping the landscape, seasons, and ecosystem over time.
Life on the planet is never lonely: fuzzy anthropomorphic Neighbors, like coordinator Mobai and racer Elsasani, arrive with their stories. Players explore islets, participate in auctions and games at the Galactic Bazaar, and build lasting friendships.
Petit Planet release dates
Petit Planet will first launch on December 4, 2026, for PC (Epic Games Store and client), iOS (App Store), and Android (Google Play). The Nintendo Switch 2 version is confirmed for 2027, with the team working on the port and promising more gameplay soon.
The confirmation came during HoYoverse's Pre-Launch Special Program, with pre-registration campaigns and Switch 2 giveaways.
Why Petit Planet on Switch 2 matters
As miHoYo's first cozy game, Petit Planet has the potential to compete with Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Switch 2. Fans of simulation and the company expect a rich experience in customization and charming worlds, similar to the developer's visual style.
