Ova Magica, the farming and creature-collecting RPG from Skinny Frog, finally has a console release date: November 10, 2026. The announcement was made by publisher Top Hat Studios during the Top Hat Studios Fall Showcase 2026 and confirmed on Monday, November 2.
The game will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, covering the current two console generations from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. On PC, Ova Magica is already available: it entered Early Access on Steam on July 23, 2024, and received its 1.0 version on May 28, 2026.
What is Ova Magica
In Clover Town, players run a farm and raise Blobs, creatures that hatch from eggs and come in dozens of varieties, all of which can be cross-bred. Blobs belong to the Forest, Storm or Magma types, help with farm chores, fight in an Active Time Battle system and join expeditions into dungeons that change on every visit, where a Blob Emperor boss guards rare eggs. The game also mixes relationships with the town's residents, fishing, mining, cooking and crafting.
A launch delayed twice
The road to consoles was long. Ova Magica was announced for Nintendo Switch back in August 2020, and the console versions were at one point dated for July 21, 2026 and then September 8, before another delay. According to Top Hat Studios, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions were already finished, but the company chose not to split the launch: the Switch version still needed critical stability fixes, linked to memory leaks on the weaker hardware.
The price of the console versions of Ova Magica has not been announced yet. The announcement also does not detail performance differences between platforms, so it is worth checking the official stores before buying.
