Ordinary Oddness: Tencent open-world RPG announced for PS5, Xbox and PC

COSMICPUP STUDIO, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, announced Ordinary Oddness, an open-world RPG described as “nothing-stays-oddinary,” planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.

What happened?

The announcement took place on October 20, 2026. The game is set in Elysian Skies, a floating city above the clouds where humans and Mythoids (urban legend creatures) coexist. The player takes the role of Consulting Investigator, opening an agency and solving cases in a world where the strange is normal.

A 22-minute reveal trailer was released, showing the Mythoid Day parade. Pre-registration is available. No release date yet.

Why is this important?

Ordinary Oddness mixes open-world with investigation elements and urban folklore in a vibrant and surreal visual. As a project from a Tencent subsidiary, it can bring a different approach to the open-world RPG genre, focusing on the “odd” as the rule of the world.

What changes in practice?

Interested players can pre-register now on official platforms. The game will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store and WeGame, plus PS5 and Xbox Series. More details on gameplay and release date should be revealed soon.
