What happened?
NVIDIA made available today, October 23, 2026, the open model Nemotron 3.5 Bolt E4B, a small language model of just 4 GB optimized for fast conversational agents and interactive AI characters.
The Bolt E4B is part of the Nemotron 3.5 family expansion announced on October 15. While Super VL (120 billion parameters) and Bolt 74B-A9B 24GB were already available, the E4B arrives specifically for edge hardware like GeForce RTX, Jetson, and RTX/DGX Spark systems.
Why it matters
Nemotron 3.5 Bolt E4B combines natural conversation with multi-turn agentic capabilities. This allows creating local voice assistants, interactive game characters, and embedded interfaces that respond quickly without relying on the cloud.
According to NVIDIA, the model is optimized for intelligence per gigabyte, ideal for resource-limited devices. It joins other open models in the family, enabling game and app developers to create smarter NPCs or personal assistants that run locally.
What changes in practice
Game developers can integrate Bolt E4B to bring characters to life with contextual dialogues and actions based on game state, all running on the player's hardware. For gadget and app creators, this means faster and more private voice assistants.
The model is available with open weights, facilitating customization. More details on the official NVIDIA blog.
