No Rest for the Wicked classes: Moon Studios reveals system with 24 options for 1.0

What happened?

No Rest for the Wicked classes arrive in full details today in Moon Studios' Wicked Inside showcase. The class system arrives with version 1.0 in March 2027 and will be available in the December 2026 open beta.

There are 24 classes, over 280 traits, 6 trait slots and 6 factions. Equipping a weapon automatically changes the class: a spear turns you into a Dragoon, a dagger into an Assassin. Traits unlocked on one class can be used on any other.

Why is this important?

The No Rest for the Wicked classes system eliminates traditional attributes and bases playstyle on the weapon and collected traits. This solves the common ARPG limitation where fixed classes prevent deep experimentation. Players can build hybrid characters without forced respec.

The game from the Ori creators is in Steam Early Access and was delayed from October 2026 to March 2027 for polish. The December open beta will allow testing all 24 classes of No Rest for the Wicked classes.

What changes in practice?

In practice, the player changes class by switching weapons and accumulates specific resources (like Insight for Dragoon) to unlock traits and runes. With 6 slots (offensive, defensive, utility and augment), it is possible to mix styles freely. New zones and class armors were also shown.

This promises greater replayability and customization in No Rest for the Wicked classes, approaching a flexible system like Final Fantasy Tactics. Fans of the isometric action ARPG gain more depth before the full launch.
