Nintendo Raises Switch 2 and Switch Repair Prices in Japan Starting November 16

Nintendo announced an increase in repair prices for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles in Japan, effective for units received from November 16, 2026.

The company attributed the change to rising costs of replacement parts. Controllers, docks, and accessories saw no price changes.

Main increases

On the Switch 2, CPU board repair or replacement (issues like not turning on, frozen screen, or charging failure) rises from 27,500 yen to 37,400 yen.

On the original Switch (OLED, standard, and Lite models), CPU board repair also increases by about 9,900 yen. Other items, such as LCD and battery, see smaller increases of around 1,000 to 2,000 yen.

Context

Nintendo had already raised the retail prices of the consoles in Japan and other regions throughout 2026. So far, the company has not announced whether the new repair prices will apply outside Japan.
