Meta began rolling out, on November 6, 2026, specialized versions of the models behind Muse and Meta AI, trained using Muse Wonder, the company's most capable model series, introduced on October 12. The update brings to more people two capabilities previously associated with Wonder: Active Memory and Active Focus.
Active Memory lets the assistants remember what matters from earlier conversations and recognize when older information becomes relevant again. According to Meta AI Research, the models were trained to distinguish temporary information from permanent information, reason across time, and tell what is still relevant from what has gone stale.
Active Focus helps Muse keep working toward a goal even when an unexpected challenge appears, trying again, recovering, or finding alternatives. The models were also trained to multitask, to decide when to push ahead on their own and when to collaborate live with the user, and to take in guidance mid-task without losing track.
The numbers Meta reported
In internal evaluations, Meta says the new Muse model forgets critical information for users' goals 2.4 times less often, with correct use of context rising from 76% to 90% in the company's memory evaluation. Active Focus reportedly improved completion of everyday tasks where unexpected issues arise by 67%. On Meta's internal Personal Superintelligence Index, the current Muse model scores 47%, up from 38% for the previous model.
Important: all of these figures come from Meta's own internal evaluations, with no independent verification and no equivalent figures published for Meta AI. Meta has not published technical details on how it transferred Wonder's behaviors to the specialized models, nor formal names for the new variants.
The announcement came from Meta AI Research and was echoed by Mark Zuckerberg on X. On the same day, Meta also launched Spaces in Muse, a feature that turns descriptions into personalized mini-apps.
