Mr Magpie's Harmless Card Game has gained a voice, platforms and a launch window: Matt Mercer will voice the puppet Mr Magpie, and the game is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in early 2027, with Xbox Game Pass Day One and Xbox Play Anywhere support. The announcement came in a new trailer during the ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase on October 20, 2026, according to Xbox Wire and the publisher's announcement carried by Games Press.
Matt Mercer voices the puppet boss
Mercer is known for playing Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Vincent Valentine in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Minsc in Baldur's Gate 3 and Vecna in Dead by Daylight. In the new trailer, the actor introduces the performance of the game's host, turning the character's mumbles and noises into the soundtrack of a workplace that insists everything is perfectly harmless.
A corporate horror deckbuilder
Developed by Giant Light Studios and published by Miss Behaviour (Behaviour Interactive) and Gambit Digital, Mr Magpie's Harmless Card Game is a surreal corporate horror deckbuilder combining Minesweeper-inspired deduction, push-your-luck mechanics and roguelike deckbuilding. Players flip cards, use hints to deduce where the dangerous JERRY cards are hiding, exploit strange synergies and chase ever-larger multipliers to hit quota before closing time.
According to the announcement, failing to meet expectations may result in immediate termination, of the permanent kind, and JERRY-related fatalities are not covered by the company's employee benefits plan. A free demo is already available on Steam.
The Mr Magpie's Harmless Card Game page on Steam lists a first-quarter 2027 release, which reinforces the early 2027 window given in the announcement.
Platforms, Game Pass and what is still unannounced
Xbox Wire confirms the game for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Game Pass in early 2027, with Xbox Play Anywhere. The publisher's announcement adds PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 to the list and describes the Game Pass launch as Day One. No price or exact date has been announced, so the early 2027 window should be treated as a forecast, not a fixed date.
