DLSS mod for AMD Radeon: version 0.8.0 brings nearly the full NVIDIA DLSS suite

Developer Daniel Blanco updated the DLSS-NR on AMD project to Alpha 0.8.0, which now allows nearly all major NVIDIA DLSS features to run on AMD Radeon graphics cards.

What the mod offers

The new version includes DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution (Models M and L), Ray Reconstruction (Model F), Frame Generation with up to 4x Multi Frame Generation (MFG), and DLSS 5 Neural Rendering. FSR 4.1.1 is also bundled. Full support is for RDNA 4 and RDNA 3 (RX 9000 and RX 7000); RDNA 2 is experimental and limited to Neural Rendering for now.

According to the developer, it is a ground-up reimplementation using custom HIP kernels, not a translation layer. Users must supply their own NVIDIA DLLs. The mod works in DirectX 12 games on Windows 11 and is blocked by anti-cheat, so it is recommended only for single-player titles.

Performance and results

The developer reports that DLSS 5 Neural Rendering reaches roughly 90 to 100 FPS at 1080p on an RX 9070 XT, with the goal of approaching RTX 5070 Ti levels. Early Ray Reconstruction results are mixed: some users saw little to no performance loss in Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing, while others reported drops of up to 25%.

Why it matters

Many games support DLSS more broadly than AMD’s equivalent technologies. The mod lets Radeon owners access features like Neural Rendering and Multi Frame Generation that AMD does not yet offer natively in equivalent form. The project is available on GitHub.
