Moadra on October 22: Metroidvania launches on PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PC

Gloomsoft confirmed Moadra for October 22, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The announcement came on October 1 with a release trailer and an updated Steam page.

What happened?

Gloomsoft posted on X that the game arrives on October 22 and shared a trailer. Steam also lists October 22, 2026, with the studio as developer and publisher. Gematsu describes Moadra as an Alien-inspired sci-fi Metroidvania.

The official synopsis asks players to cross an alien world full of creatures, hazards, and mysteries, seeking redemption on the forgotten planet Protea VI. The interconnected map includes the barren surface, freezing summits, and an infested research facility, after the protagonist’s ancestors went extinct 20,000 years ago.

Moadra rolls, dodges, jumps, wall-jumps, and sprints to escape organisms and traps. A scanner with X-ray vision reveals hidden paths and maps explored areas. Defeated creatures yield Protoplasm, an energy-packed biomass consumed in organic chambers to evolve abilities and weapons. The studio also mentions brutal bosses and roughly 10 to 15 hours of play.

Why it matters

Exploration-and-combat Metroidvanias remain strong with indie and console audiences. Moadra joins that space with sci-fi horror, metamorphosis-based progression, and a same-day launch on four platforms. In an earlier post, Gloomsoft said Nintendo Switch 2 and physical versions may come later — that is still a studio statement, with no date.

What changes in practice

Players following the genre can mark October 22 on the Steam wishlist or on PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch stores. Price is not confirmed in the sources used here. The trailer is on Gloomsoft’s official profile, and the store page is on Steam.
