Microsoft Flight Simulator released World Update 23: Poland and the Baltics on October 26, 2026, a free update for all owners of the simulator. It is the first time in the franchise's history that the region has received an update of this scale, according to the game's official page.
Produced in partnership with Bing Places, Asobo and Gaya, the update rebuilds with photogrammetry, TIN texturing and elevation data 12 areas of interest: 8 in Poland, 2 in Lithuania, 1 in Latvia and 1 in Estonia. Rebuilt cities include Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, Vilnius, Riga, Kaunas and Tallinn.
77 points of interest and 5 handcrafted airports
The update includes 77 points of interest, such as castles, lighthouses, cathedrals, bridges and towers. Among them are Malbork Castle, the largest brick castle in the world; Sopot Pier, the longest wooden pier in Europe; Trakai Island Castle in Lithuania; and the Riga Radio and TV Tower, the tallest tower in the European Union.
It also adds 5 handcrafted airports by Gaya: Kärdla (EEKA) in Estonia; Jūrmala (EVJA) in Latvia; Palanga (EYPA) in Lithuania; Warsaw-Babice (EPBC) and Opole-Kamień Śląski (EPKN) in Poland.
Missions and the Antonov An-28
For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the update brings 3 discovery flights (Warsaw, Sigulda and Tallinn), 4 precision landings, the Sopot landing challenge with a modified Cub flown by Łukasz Czepiela, a guided tour of Tatra National Park and a rally race. The 2020 version gets the discovery flights and landing challenges.
Alongside the free update comes Local Legend 26, the Antonov An-28, for US$ 14.99 in the in-sim Marketplace. The aircraft has Ukrainian origins, but its series production moved to PZL Mielec in Poland in 1978, making it the closest fit to a Polish aircraft to accompany the update, according to the simulator team.
