Level-5 Announces Inazuma Eleven: Bold Revolution and Professor Layton Remake

On Thursday (10), Level-5 broadcasted the online showcase LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II "Yume" ("Dream") in Japan, bringing two classic franchises back to center stage: a brand-new supernatural soccer RPG and a complete remake of the puzzle-solving professor's very first mystery.

The roughly 57-minute event on the company's official YouTube channel updated the Fukuoka-based developer's release calendar following the Nintendo Direct and a packed September of announcements.

What Happened?

According to the recap published by 4Gamer and the official VISION website, the two headline announcements were:

  • Inazuma Eleven: Rekka no Kakumei (イナズマイレブン 烈火の革命), localized in the West as Inazuma Eleven: Bold Revolution — a brand-new series entry with no release date or platforms confirmed yet;
  • Professor Layton and the Curious Village Remake (レイトン教授と不思議な町 Remake) — a modern remaster of the 2007 Nintendo DS classic, slated for release in 2027.

The stream also featured a new trailer for Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, a major paid DLC for Fantasy Life i titled "Celestial Train and the Final Station of Happiness", and PVs for Yo-kai Watch 2: Hadou, Snack World Reloaded, Decapolis, and Holy Horror Mansion.

Why Does This Matter?

Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road successfully put the franchise back on the map after years of delays. Announcing another game so early signals that Level-5 wants to treat its supernatural soccer series as an ongoing pillar rather than a one-off comeback.

Meanwhile, the Curious Village remake appeals both to nostalgic DS veterans and gamers who only know Layton through puzzles and memes. The original game defined the franchise's signature tone: a bizarre town, riddles around every corner, and a professor in a towering top hat. Bringing it back with updated visuals in 2027 serves as a perfect entry point while New World of Steam shapes up to be the series' next major "new" launch.

What This Doesn't Mean Yet

Level-5 has not detailed platforms, pricing, or whether the Layton remake is heading to Switch 2, PS5, and PC—the multiplatform treatment already confirmed for New World of Steam. There is also no release window for the new Inazuma Eleven. Treating either announcement as an imminent release would be premature.

The full showcase is available on Level-5's YouTube channel. The 4Gamer Japanese recap and the official event page list all the trailers released after the stream.
