The light novel Kochira, Shuumatsu Teitai Iinkai (This Is the End Stagnation Committee) is getting an anime. The announcement came on October 3, 2026, at the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival Online, streamed on ABEMA. Studio, staff, cast and premiere date were not given.
The series is written by Kien Aien and illustrated by Ogipote, under ASCII Media Works / Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko. Volume 1 shipped on July 10, 2024. Six volumes were out by July 2026. A manga by Yutaka Sakurai has run on Shonen Ace Plus since April 2025, with two compiled volumes.
What was shown
The festival released a special announcement PV. Illustrator Ogipote celebrated on X that this is the first title under their charge to move, and said production is underway. That confirms an adaptation, not a broadcast window.
The story is an apocalypse most people do not notice: strange creatures under Tokyo's Shinobazu Pond, a giant snail on the Eiffel Tower, phenomena tearing reality. Behind the scenes, youths fight the end while trying to keep some routine. In the 2025 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings it placed 2nd among new releases and 4th in paperback.
What is still unconfirmed
There is no studio, director, episode count or streaming platform outside Japan. The festival notice describes an anime project in progress, the usual stage of an early Dengeki Bunko announcement, not a dated premiere.
