An enthusiast has released a public beta of the unofficial native Killzone Shadow Fall PC port. The 2013 PlayStation 4 exclusive from Guerrilla Games can now be played on Windows without full traditional console emulation.
Hosted on GitHub by lesca-191204, the project runs the game's code directly on the PC's CPU while converting PS4 graphics commands to Vulkan in real time. Beta 0.2.0 allows completing the entire single-player campaign.
What the port offers
- Resolutions up to 4K (720p, 1080p, 1440p, 1800p, and 4K)
- FPS limits of 30 and 60, plus experimental modes up to 240 FPS and unlimited
- Mouse and keyboard support with mouse aiming
- Xbox and PlayStation controllers
- FSR 1, VSync, anisotropic filtering
- English and Spanish launcher with automatic updates
Tested on a Ryzen 7 5700 with RTX 2060 Super. Requirements include Windows 10 (1903+) or 11, a Vulkan 1.3 GPU, and 16 GB of RAM. 6 GB of VRAM is recommended for 1080p-1440p.
Limitations and next steps
The first campaign load can take a long time and may crash while shaders compile — subsequent loads are more stable. There is lighting flicker in Chapter 2 and multiplayer is offline-only (Botzone). The project does not include game files: you need your own dump of version CUSA00190, update 01.81.
Future plans include DLSS, FSR 3.1/4, and performance improvements. The port is not affiliated with Sony or Guerrilla Games.
