iQOO Neo 12 launches October 28 with 9,000 mAh battery and fan

iQOO has confirmed the final details of the iQOO Neo 12 ahead of its launch in China on October 28, 2026, at 7 p.m. local time, with sales starting right after the event. The gaming-focused phone pairs a flagship processor, a high-refresh-rate display, active cooling and a battery well above current flagship norms.

According to the company, the Neo 12 uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 together with iQOO's own Q3 gaming chip. Its OLED display offers 2K resolution and a 185 Hz refresh rate, with up to 2,200 nits of brightness in high-brightness mode. iQOO says more than 50 games will support 185 frames per second at launch, although actual performance depends on each title's support.

Cooling is one of the most striking points: the Ice Dome system includes a built-in fan inside the square camera module, plus a vapor chamber. The goal is to sustain performance during long sessions without heating as much as a phone with only passive cooling.

For cameras, the detail confirmed on October 23 is a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). iQOO says its “bionic” imaging technology aims to reproduce colors close to those perceived by the human eye, and the phone will offer three portrait film styles — positive, negative and clear blue — plus a high-resolution mode for detailed photos.

The Blue Ocean battery has a 9,000 mAh capacity with 100 W wired charging, using a fifth-generation silicon anode and second-generation semi-solid-state technology, with an energy density of 916 Wh/L, according to iQOO. The company estimates up to 11.6 hours of continuous MOBA gaming or almost 30 hours of short-video playback — manufacturer lab figures, not independent results. The phone also supports bypass charging, so it can be used while charging with less heat.

In design, the Neo 12 will have a polished metal frame and three colors: Fierce Edge, with a dynamic texture on the rear panel; Shadow Black; and Frost Blade Blue. Price and availability outside China have not yet been announced by iQOO, so they should not be treated as confirmed.
