COVER Corporation and Kadokawa confirmed this Wednesday (23) the official title, cast, and first key visual for hololive's debut TV anime. Previously referred to simply as "Odeholo", the project will be known as hololive Let's Head Out in the West and Odekake hololive (おでかけホロライブ) in Japan.
What happened?
The announcement was made during a special livestream on the official anime channel. The teaser visual brings together all 29 VTuber members participating in the series. Animation production is handled by Studio KAI, the same studio behind many of hololive's official music videos and shorts.
The story is an original concept by COVER, described as a travel omnibus. On regular days, the talents stream online. On their days off, they go out—and that is exactly what the anime aims to capture, driven by the hook "where are we going today?"
Who is behind it
Shunsuke Machitani is directing the series, with Ōri Yasukawa serving as assistant director. Kōdai Minami is in charge of series composition, and Masatoshi Tsuji handles character design. COVER is credited for the original story.
The voice cast features the talents themselves: Tokino Sora, Roboco-san, Aki Rosenthal, Shirakami Fubuki, Natsuiro Matsuri, Nakiri Ayame, Yuzuki Choco, Oozora Subaru, AZKi, Ookami Mio, Sakura Miko, Nekomata Okayu, Inugami Korone, Hoshimachi Suisei, Usada Pekora, Shiranui Flare, Shirogane Noel, Houshou Marine, Tsunomaki Watame, Tokoyami Towa, Himemori Luna, Yukihana Lamy, Momosuzu Nene, Shishiro Botan, Omaru Polka, La+ Darknesss, Takane Lui, Hakui Koyori, and Kazama Iroha.
Why it matters
hololive is one of the biggest VTuber agencies in the world and is fast approaching its 10th anniversary. A TV anime is its most ambitious milestone yet, bringing the talents out of the livestream format and onto traditional screens to reach audiences who may have never opened a COVER YouTube channel.
No premiere date has been announced yet. However, the creative direction is clear—a slice-of-life travel anime rather than a battle epic—alongside the confirmation that the VTubers themselves will voice their anime counterparts.
The details were shared by COVER and Kadokawa during the September 23 livestream and confirmed by outlets such as Anime News Network, Crunchyroll News, and Mantan Web.
