Hello Kitty Island Adventure 3.0, titled Welcome Home, was announced by Sunblink and Sanrio on October 8, 2026. The free update is already available on Apple Arcade, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
The focus is home decoration. On Home Island, players start with a one-story building and can expand it into a multi-floor island mansion, changing the roof, facade, landscaping, and interior floor plan. For the first time in the game, they can also build homes for Sanrio characters, in a storyline where island residents pitch in on their own houses.
What changes on the island
- Cabin layouts and kits: designs and contents can be saved, shared, and moved between cabins.
- Floorplans: cabins gain rooms of different shapes and sizes.
- Creative Mode room: players can build a layout with almost any item, export it, and generate a component list.
- Mailboxes: the home mailbox collects lost items, return gifts, and collections; character mailboxes unlock auto-gifting at a certain friendship level.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure 3.0 also introduces Marroncream, a cheerful rabbit from the Paris suburbs described as skilled in fashion, sweets, and handicrafts. The announcement says she helps transform the player's home and create homes for other characters.
Welcome Home arrives alongside the fall event Days of Plenty. This year, My Melody, My Sweet Piano, and LaLa ask for DIY help in exchange for knitted outfits, sewing-themed furniture, and returning fall rewards.
Friend Pass and physical bundle
On PC, owners can invite friends through Friend Pass, which enables cooperative play and a portion of the early content. The physical Switch 2 Friendship Bundle launches on October 15, 2026 in North America, Europe, and Australia, and on November 20 in Asia and Japan, for $59.99. Pre-orders are listed at retailers named in the release, including Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and Walmart.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure, first released on Apple Arcade and later expanded to consoles and PC, mixes gathering, cooking, decorating, and exploration with Sanrio characters. Update 3.0 pushes the game toward home simulation without leaving the shared island behind. Seasonal-event players get a permanent building layer this time, not only party items.
