Gran Turismo Sport arrives on PC with unofficial RyGT port and FSR 3.1 support

The PlayStation 4 exclusive racing game Gran Turismo Sport now runs natively on Windows thanks to the community project RyGT. Developed by GitHub user mlgprorektm8, the port converts the game's executable into a Windows program without traditional emulation. This allows Gran Turismo Sport fans to experience the title on PC with modern enhancements.

How RyGT works

RyGT is a fork of the Ryty tool combined with the shadGT Vulkan renderer. The game code runs directly on the PC's CPU, while custom libraries replace PS4 system functions. The package available on GitHub does not include the game files: players need to provide their own decrypted dump of the title (CUSA03220, update 1.69) and PS4 firmware files.

Performance and features

According to the developer, Gran Turismo Sport races run between 42 and 60 FPS depending on the number of cars on the track. Tests were conducted on setups such as Core i7-13700KF with RTX 4070 Ti and Ryzen 5 9600X with RTX 3060. The port includes support for AMD FSR 3.1 frame generation and options to reduce shader stutter, such as precompilation or batch compilation.

Menus, car and track selection, audio and controls work. Online features are not available. Recent builds, including one from October 17, 2026, fixed issues like white flashes and improved the renderer.

Why it matters

The Gran Turismo series has never officially come to PC. Projects like RyGT demonstrate the progress of the console game recompilation scene, similar to what happened with Bloodborne and other PS4 titles. The code and instructions are on the RyGT GitHub repository.
