GPT-6 reaches free ChatGPT with Intelligent UI on October 8

On October 8, 2026, OpenAI begins expanding GPT-6 with Intelligent UI to ChatGPT Free and Go. Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise received the update the day before, according to the official October 7 announcement. The company says the release reaches the base it describes as more than 1.2 billion people using ChatGPT each week.

In Chat, the paid-plan model is GPT-6 Sol. On Free and Go, it is GPT-6 Luna. Both are tuned for everyday conversation and support Intelligent UI. The Pro reasoning option remains GPT-6 Astra and, according to OpenAI's help page, does not offer this interface.

What changes in the reply

Intelligent UI lets a reply mix text with charts, buttons, forms, diagrams, and small tools usable inside the conversation. OpenAI says GPT-6 was trained to pick the format based on the question: a comparison can appear side by side, an explanation can become a diagram, and a simple answer can stay text-only.

The update applies to the Chat tab, in the browser and current mobile apps. OpenAI says the Work and Codex models do not change in this release. On Enterprise accounts, availability depends on the admin setting.

What is not locked yet

The October 7 post says the Free and Go expansion starts the next day, not that every user receives the feature at the same time. Arrival can vary by plan and permission. This announcement does not change API pricing or replace the models used in Work and Codex.
