The Game Freak TGS 2026 hype is reaching its peak with a live stream scheduled for this Monday (14) at 7:00 PM JST — 6:00 AM SGT — on the studio's official YouTube channel. The broadcast will preview the very first time the creators of Pokémon will set up their own dedicated booth at the Tokyo Game Show, which opens on Thursday (17) at Makuhari Messe.

What happened?
The announcement was made on Game Freak's official X account and confirmed by Famitsu, 4Gamer, and Dengeki Online. The stream features Shigeru Ohmori, Pokémon series director and executive development director, alongside voice actresses (seiyuus) Hiyori Kono and Yuki Nagano. The studio hasn't revealed the rundown, stating only that the broadcast will build excitement for the TGS 2026 booth.
Back in July, the company announced that this marks Game Freak's first independent booth at the event and that no Pokémon series titles will be present. Those wanting to try Beast of Reincarnation, the original action RPG released on August 4, will find the playable experience at the Happinet booth.
What does this mean?
Pokémon remains the studio's most famous product, but this year's TGS showcases another side of the developer. Beast of Reincarnation blends real-time combat with RPG commands: Emma fights with her sword while her canine companion Koo receives orders. On Steam, user reviews are mixed, and the team continues to roll out patches. A live stream featuring Ohmori on the eve of Japan's biggest gaming event raises two major questions: what is changing in the new game, and what will the booth showcase without Pokémon.
The guest voice actresses highlight the character and vocal performance side of things, though Game Freak has not yet detailed their exact involvement in the broadcast.
