Forza Horizon 6 PS5 arrives on January 26, 2027 with first expansion

The Forza Horizon 6 PS5 version arrives on January 26, 2027, confirmed by Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios. Standard and Deluxe editions launch that day, while those who pre-order the Premium Edition get early access starting January 21. The news came on the official Forza site on October 8.

The game, set in Japan with more than 550 real-world cars, has been available on Xbox Series and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store) since May 19, 2026, and also on Game Pass. The PS5 version is developed by Panic Button, the same studio behind the Forza Horizon 5 port, in collaboration with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios. A physical disc version will be available at supporting retailers.

The pre-order trailer was captured on a base PS5 in Quality mode at 4K 30 FPS. The game also offers a 60 FPS Performance mode. Anyone who pre-orders any edition on the PlayStation Store receives a pre-tuned Ferrari J50 that is added to the garage after the prologue.

Expansion and free update

On the same January 21 the first Premium Expansion arrives on all platforms. It is included with the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle, and can be purchased separately. A free content update also launches that day for all players. More details about the expansion are expected closer to release.

The PS5 version will support cross-play and cross-save with the Xbox and Steam versions. All user-generated content (EventLab, liveries, garages, setups) is also shared across platforms, so day-one players already find a large catalog of community creations.

Why it matters

Forza Horizon 6 was originally announced with a PS5 launch still in 2026. The January date represents a small delay relative to earlier statements. Still, the official confirmation, trailer and pre-order opening give clarity to PlayStation fans waiting for the festival in Japan. The game received very positive reviews at its original launch and is considered one of the best in the series.

For those already playing on Xbox or PC, the arrival of more players and the simultaneous expansion launch increase the volume of multiplayer content and shared creations.
