The Fortnite x Persona 5 crossover finally has a release date: Joker, Ann Takamaki, and Morgana are hitting the Item Shop on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 5 PM Pacific Time — 9 PM Brasília. Epic Games confirmed the drop with a silhouette trailer and the classic Phantom Thieves calling card: “Dear Fortnite, the Phantom Thieves of Hearts are coming.”
For those who missed Atlus's hit JRPG, Persona 5 Royal follows a group of students who use Personas — manifestations of their inner psyches — to "steal the hearts" of corrupt adults. Bringing this distinct visual style to Epic's battle royale bridges two massive audiences: even those who haven't played the game instantly recognize the trench coat and mask, while anyone who cleared Kamoshida's Palace will definitely want the emote.

What Happened?
The official Fortnite X account posted the teaser over the weekend. Outlets like Dot Esports, TalkEsport, and Vice cross-referenced the video with datamined files to pin down the initial trio. HappyGamer also ties the timing right before Fortnitemares 2026, the Halloween event kicking off on October 1.
What's Coming to the Shop
The first wave of Fortnite x Persona 5 won't feature the entire team. Based on the official teaser and reputable dataminers, the lineup includes:
- Joker (Ren Amamiya), in his Phantom Thief outfit with an extra style found in the files;
- Ann Takamaki (Panther);
- Morgana as a back bling/sidekick, rather than a full-body playable skin.
HYPEX and other dataminers have also listed an emote, pickaxe, wrap, a "Morgana Bus" inspired van, and a Match Override with a lifesteal effect (roughly 10% of damage dealt). These extras weren't shown in the official trailer and should only be treated as 100% confirmed once the shop goes live.
In Practice
In Brazil, the Fortnite Item Shop typically resets at 9 PM on Friday. In Japan and South Korea, that same reset drops at 9 AM on Saturday, September 26. The bundle drops during Chapter 7 Season 4, titled Override, the game's current season.
There is no official V-Bucks price yet. Fortnite collaborations usually return to the shop rotation, but Epic hasn't promised a second wave featuring Ryuji, Makoto, Futaba, or Yusuke just yet.
Why This Matters
Persona 5 is one of the most recognizable JRPGs of the decade. Fortnite has evolved into a pop culture storefront where a skin acts as a digital status symbol. Bringing the two together right as the game's Halloween event approaches significantly boosts the chances of this drop trending far beyond each franchise's bubble.
What This Doesn't Mean (Yet)
This isn't a full Persona gameplay mode inside Fortnite, nor is it an announcement for Persona 6. It's a strictly scheduled cosmetic bundle. If demand is high enough, Epic historically tends to expand the roster in subsequent drops — but that's based on past shop trends, not a formal commitment.
