Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave Expansion Pass: three DLC waves announced

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems announced on Wednesday (October 14) the Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave Expansion Pass for the tactical RPG exclusive to Switch 2 that launched in September. The paid content will be released in three separate waves and is already available for purchase on the eShop.

What arrives in each wave

Wave 1, released today, adds four extra weapons modeled after the Heroes’ Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Official details indicate that each of the four protagonists receives a corresponding weapon: Cai gets the lance inspired by Dimitri’s, Theodora the bow inspired by Claude’s, Leda the axe inspired by Edelgard’s, and Dietrich the sword inspired by Byleth’s.

Wave 2 arrives during the 2026 holiday season and includes new wearable outfits for the heroes and allies, plus three new recruitable characters: Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah (or Jurab according to some sources). Wave 3, planned for 2027, expands the narrative with new stories involving Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel, and Anatolia, along with additional allies, classes, and other elements.

The Expansion Pass costs $34.99. Those who want the base game + DLC can buy the bundle for $104.99. The announcement trailer is already available on Nintendo’s official channel.

Why it matters

Fortune’s Weave was well received as a return to the more narrative and tactical style of Three Houses, focusing on the Heroic Games in the Dagdan Empire and the possibility of time travel. The Expansion Pass strengthens post-launch support and draws on the series’ legacy by bringing direct references to Three Houses, one of the franchise’s most popular titles.

For players already mid-campaign or planning to buy the game, Wave 1 offers an immediate incentive. Later waves promise more narrative depth and character variety, which is often decisive for the longevity of Fire Emblem games.
