What is Final Fantasy VII Revelation?

For those not following the franchise: in 2020, Square Enix began reimagining the 1997 classic RPG 'Final Fantasy VII' into a three-part trilogy, with each entry significantly larger and more detailed than the original. Revelation is the third and final chapter, promising to conclude the main storyline. The game launches on April 8, 2027, initially for the Nintendo Switch 2, with versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S also confirmed.

What Each DLC Will Bring

Both packs are part of a 'Story Expansion Pass', available for purchase separately or included with the game's Premium Edition:

Sephiroth DLC: Puts the series' legendary villain at the center of the narrative. Square Enix has not yet revealed where in the timeline this story takes place, nor if he will actually be playable.

Vincent & the Turks: Follows Vincent Valentine and the paramilitary organization known as the Turks, likely exploring his past within the group—a piece of lore that the original games only hinted at between the lines.

Players who purchase any version of the game will receive the 'Reclaimant Choker' and 'Survival Set' accessories as launch bonuses. These items restore a small amount of HP whenever an enemy is defeated, offering a helpful boost at the start of the adventure.

Release Date

While the bonus accessories unlock alongside the game in April 2027, the story chapters themselves are not scheduled to arrive until late 2027 to early 2028 (Northern Hemisphere winter to spring). This means fans will finish the main campaign long before diving into these expansions. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
