Square Enix has released the Vision: Cecil Trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance, the first Final Fantasy game in HD-2D. The clip introduces Cecil Harvey, former captain of the Red Wings from Final Fantasy IV, as one of the Visions that can fight alongside the original party.
What the trailer shows
Cecil uses both light and dark attacks, and can also defend and heal, making him a flexible Vision. In Resonance, Visions are crystallized essences of classic heroes. Stronger bonds unlock more of their abilities. Staggering every enemy in a single turn triggers a Resonance attack with the equipped Vision.
The trailer follows earlier looks at Terra, Squall and Zidane. The game is still scheduled for October 22, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. A free Chapter 1 demo with transferable progress is already live.
Why it matters
Resonance mixes a new cast with series icons in turn-based combat and updated pixel art. Cecil is one of the most requested FFIV names, and the trailer confirms Visions change the combat kit rather than acting as cameos.
