The Fate/EXTRA Record remake dropped its first Servant-focused character video this Saturday, spotlighting Archer, voiced by Junichi Suwabe — the same iconic voice actor behind Archer in Fate/stay night.
The footage premiered during the Aniplex One Focus 2026 broadcast, and the official TYPE-MOON Games channel has since republished the PV. Outlets like MANTANWEB, Oricon, and Gematsu confirmed the announcement the same day.

What the Video Shows
According to the official description for Fate/EXTRA Record, Archer is one of the Servants the protagonist can contract with. He wields multiple weapons, specializing in ranged combat and throwing. The profile describes him as cynical yet professional, getting jobs done without fuss.
This is the first in an upcoming series of character PVs. No release date changes were announced alongside this drop.
What is Fate/EXTRA Record
Released in 2010 on the PSP, Fate/EXTRA was the franchise's first RPG. Fate/EXTRA Record revamps the scenario, redesigns the characters (with art by RCO Wada), and updates the battle system to a card and deck-building format.
The story returns to the Moon Holy Grail War: 128 Masters and their Servants battle for a wish-granting artifact where only one Master can survive. Kinoko Nasu supervises the scenario, Meteorise develops the game, TYPE-MOON plans, and Aniplex publishes.
When and Where to Play
Fate/EXTRA Record launches worldwide on January 28, 2027, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. Standard and Digital Deluxe editions will be available, featuring bonus outfits, a rearranged soundtrack, and a digital artbook.
Audio is in Japanese. Official store listings include subtitles for Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Korean. Portuguese is currently absent from these listings.
Why This Matters
After years of waiting, Fate/EXTRA Record finally showcases a Servant in its fresh visual style. For fans of Fate/Grand Order and Fate/stay night, Suwabe's Archer serves as a stellar introduction. For newcomers to the original EXTRA, the PV sets the tone: a digital grail war, sharp wit, and tactical combat.
This is neither a full story trailer nor a DLC announcement—it is simply the kickoff of the character showcase leading up to January 2027.
Watch the PV on the TYPE-MOON Games channel and check out the character profile on the official Fate/EXTRA Record website. Extra coverage via Gematsu and MANTANWEB.
