Kashiko Amane's romantic-comedy manga Everyone's Darling Has a Secret (Houkago no Idol ni wa Himitsu ga Aru) is getting a TV anime. Studio Gekkou is producing the series for an April 2027 premiere. An official site, X account, teaser visual, cast and staff were revealed together.
What happened?
Hizashi Hiruno is a freshman at an elite high school who bungles a placement exam and lands in remedial class. There he meets a classmate who looks like the girl of his dreams — and who is hiding a secret. The visual's tagline reads: “I can't tell her secret to anyone.”
Reiji Kawashima voices Hizashi. Hikaru Tono plays Rei Kuromiya. Iori Noguchi (from =LOVE) is Sakura Akai and Ami Maeshima is Sora Konno. Hikaru Sato directs; Fumihiko Shimo handles series composition and scripts; Kibidango 14-gou designs the characters; Satoru Kousaki and MONACA compose the music.
Why it matters
The manga previewed in Young Animal in July 2022 and continues on Manga Park and Young Animal Web. Nine collected volumes were out as of July 2026, with an English edition from Yen Press. The team mixes familiar rom-com and school-life names, with Sato coming off The 100 Girlfriends.
What changes in practice
