Evangelion 30th anniversary Blu-ray arrives on February 24, 2027

King Records has published the official page for the EVANGELION:30+ ; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION box, set for release in Japan on February 24, 2027. The four-Blu-ray set costs 27,500 yen including tax (25,000 yen before tax) and carries catalog number KIXA-1030–3.

The product records the three days of the series' 30th anniversary festival, held on February 21, 22 and 23. It does not replace the free marathon of the 26 TV episodes that ABEMA is airing on October 4. They are different records: one is a broadcast of the original series; the other is the archive of the commemorative event.

What is in the box

The official spec lists four discs, a box with new artwork, a tall case, a booklet and a replica of the dubbing script used for the short Evangelion 30th Anniversary Special Screening. The page itself warns that some material will be omitted for rights reasons.

Recorded stage segments include the RADIO EVA and EVANGELION:95 fashion show, Q&A sessions with Hideaki Anno, Kazuya Tsurumaki and Mahiro Maeda, Hayashiya Kikuhiko's themed rakugo, a voice drama with 16 cast members and Yoko Takahashi's EVANGELION FLASHBACK LIVE. Day three includes the kabuki collaboration Kabuki Symphony Evangelion, with Sakon Onoe and Kichitaro Kamimura.

The page also lists archive and design talks, live drawings and the short, with subtitles in English, French, Italian, Korean and both simplified and traditional Chinese. Extra material from Rebuild of EVA EXTRA 30 and Archive of EVA EXTRA 30 is included as well.

One special-content item is described as the first-report video stating that production of a completely new Evangelion series has started. The listing gives no date, format or release window for that series. What is confirmed now is that this recording is included in the box, not a new launch announcement.

Why it matters

The festival brought together the historical core of the franchise, from Megumi Ogata and Megumi Hayashibara to Anno and Takahashi, in a program mixing stage, archive and a short film. The Blu-ray turns that weekend into a product, with Japanese retailers already listing their own bonuses, from Animate to the EVANGELION STORE.

The official page makes clear that the promotional image is illustrative and that the final design may change. Price, date and catalog number, however, are already published.
