Drunken Goddess Reflux cancels public Steam demo over AI copycat fears

Alliance Arts announced on Friday, October 16, 2026, the cancellation of the public demo for Drunken Goddess Reflux, originally scheduled for October 19. Instead, the studio will hold closed online sessions for a limited number of participants.

The game is a Russian roulette drinking survival against a yandere tsundere demon named Femme Soule in a hell bar called Pandemonium. Developed by WHO YOU (Fuyuki Hayashi) and Alliance Arts, it is scheduled for release on December 8, 2026, on Steam, with over 500,000 wishlists.

Why they canceled the demo

In the official statement, Alliance Arts explained two main reasons:

  • Difficulty managing restrictions on posting and streaming gameplay with the current team.
  • Concern that the demo content could be used to quickly imitate or replicate the presentation and gameplay with AI or other tools, generating copies before launch.

The studio still wants to offer the chance to play before release. Closed sessions require participants to agree in advance to recording and streaming rules. Applications are open on the official Discord.
