Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen went live across the turn of October 8–9, 2026. Capcom had dated the release for October 9; the global unlock is 00:00 UTC on October 9, which in Brazil is 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8. Steam lists the expansion date as October 8, 2026.
What the expansion adds
The content adds a new story in the abandoned region of Norgan, in the snowy north, alongside the character Eir and the fallen dragon. The DLC requires the base game on PC. On Nintendo Switch 2, Capcom bundles the main game and the expansion, the first time the current series lands on that platform.
PC Gamer reported the expansion download at about 25 GB and said no preload was available the day before launch. Hours after opening, Steam showed 106 user reviews, 89% positive, a Very Positive rating. That is an early sample, not a critical verdict.
The Dragon's Dogma series, launched in 2012, had already passed 14 million cumulative units when Capcom announced the expansion in June. The 2024 base game now gains a campaign continuation, in the mold of the original Dark Arisen, without replacing the main adventure.
