DigitalOcean Cuttlefish: an iPhone app to supervise AI agents from anywhere

DigitalOcean Cuttlefish is the new iPhone app that lets you supervise AI agents from anywhere. Announced on November 5, 2026, alongside a collaboration with Box, the app follows live sessions of Managed Agents, the company's agent platform, and keeps the human in control even away from the computer.

The scenario is familiar to anyone who uses coding agents: the agent works for minutes, hours or overnight — and stops to ask for permission. "Can I run this migration?" Without an answer, nothing happens. With DigitalOcean Cuttlefish, the answer can come from your pocket.

What you can do from your phone

  • Follow live sessions: replies, reasoning and tool calls stream in real time, with notifications when a run needs approval, finishes or fails.
  • Approve or deny tool calls: you see the full command, file path or diff — not just a summary. Requests classified as high risk require Face ID or your passcode.
  • Steer mid-run: send a correction, pause, resume or stop a session heading the wrong way. Messages sent while the agent works get queued.
  • Work with the results: view what the agent built, including websites and documents, browse workspace files, create checkpoints, and fork or roll back the work.

It works with the harness you already use

DigitalOcean Cuttlefish is not tied to a single agent: it supervises any harness running on Managed Agents, including Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, OpenHands, Hermes, LangGraph and CrewAI, with the platform's models and 20,000+ tools. Sessions run in DigitalOcean-hosted microVMs and persist independently of any device — a teammate can join a session and take over when you are away.

Box integration

In the same launch, Box introduced Box Mount, in private preview, which syncs a Box folder into the Managed Agents environment — agents work on the same files the team already uses, under Box permissions, version history and audit trail. In Cuttlefish, just go to Customize > Tools > Box, sign in and pick a folder.

Availability

DigitalOcean Cuttlefish is already available on the App Store for Managed Agents customers, while Managed Agents remains in public preview. The name comes from the cuttlefish, the sea animal known for adapting its color, pattern and texture to its surroundings — a metaphor, according to DigitalOcean, for an agent that must adapt to the tools and models around it.
