Detective Conan gets its first original two-hour TV special in about a decade on Friday, September 25, 2026. 30-gō Satsujin Jiken airs at 9 p.m. on Nippon TV and Yomiuri TV’s Friday Roadshow for the TV anime’s 30th anniversary.
What happened?
The episode is an original story, not adapted from Gosho Aoyama’s manga. A new 10,000-yen note featuring the fictional Tōto Tower has just been issued. While Conan, the Detective Boys, Professor Agasa, Ran and Sonoko tour the National Printing Bureau plant in Nagano, Tokyo police find a counterfeit note tied to a case handled by Sato and Takagi. Examiners call it Japan’s 30th recorded counterfeit.
Conan and Heiji head to Osaka. Other plants come under scrutiny, bringing in the Yokomizo brothers, Yamato, Morofushi, Uehara and Yamamura, plus Amuro/Furuya, Akai and Metro Police regulars.
Why it matters
It is the first two-hour special in ten years and is billed as the franchise’s largest TV all-star lineup. Shigeharu Kamanaka directs, Takeharu Sakurai wrote the script, and TMS Entertainment animates. The theme is Mai Kuraki’s Hallelujah, her 29th Conan song.
What changes in practice
The Japanese broadcast runs 9:00–10:54 p.m. with an alternate audio track. A bridge clip leads into Akaneiro no Senshuraku on September 26. Elaiza Ikeda appears as a guest. No international premiere date has been confirmed.
