Kojima Productions has revealed the first teaser trailer and new details for the animated series Death Stranding Isolations, set in the universe of Hideo Kojima's games. The traditional hand-drawn 2D production premieres exclusively on Disney+ and other Disney services (including Hulu) in 2027.
What happened?
The roughly 45-second teaser was shown during Kojima Productions' 10th anniversary event (Beyond the Strand) in Tokyo. The striking tagline is “My mom became a crater.” The story is completely original, separate from the games, and takes place in North America right after Sam reconnects the continent via the Chiral Network.
A young girl forced into isolation after the Death Stranding grows to prefer solitude until unexpected encounters throw her into a world she does not recognize. Other characters include a wise old man who connects people in mysterious ways, a female soldier trapped in cycles of war, and a boy raging at the absurdity of life.
