Dead by Daylight NieR Automata collection arrives October 7 in Japan

The Dead by Daylight NieR Automata collection was announced on the official Japanese account of Behaviour Interactive's asymmetric game. The October 3, 2026 post, picked up by Famitsu the next day, uses the line “humanity's war goes on inside the fog” and sets the collection for October 6 in most regions and October 7 in Japan. The post tags the official NieR Japan account.

What is confirmed

The format follows earlier Dead by Daylight collections, the multiplayer in which four survivors flee a killer. Behaviour has used the same model with Resident Evil and Silent Hill, usually as themed outfits inside the game. Famitsu is clear that this announcement does not detail the contents: there is no official list of skins, new killers or playable survivors.

Japanese sites, including Saiga NAK on October 5, point to 2B and A2 in the key art of the October roadmap posted by the official account. That is a reading of promotional art, not confirmation that the two NieR:Automata androids join as playable characters. Until Behaviour publishes the collection sheet, the guaranteed facts are the date and the Square Enix crossover.

Why it matters

NieR:Automata, from Yoko Taro and PlatinumGames, remains one of the crossovers most requested by fans who mix anime, RPGs and horror. Dead by Daylight uses these collections to pull players from other franchises without a full chapter that adds a map and a killer. If the deal stays cosmetic, the impact is smaller than a dedicated chapter; a YoRHa killer would change the matchmaking queue.

The Dead by Daylight NieR Automata collection lands in the same week the 10.2.0 patch nears release, with perk changes already noted on the support forum. The two moves are independent: one is cosmetics and licensing, the other is balance.
