DAWNGAZER is the first action RPG in the IGNISPHERE universe, led by Takafumi Noma, director and character designer of Unicorn Overlord. It is slated for 2028 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam, published by Good Smile Company and developed by Monochrome Corporation.
What happened?
Noma left Vanillaware in March 2025 and now heads IGNISPHERE Studio under Monochrome. A roughly 1 minute 40 second teaser shows a medieval fantasy town, several races and an art style close to his work on Unicorn Overlord.
Coverage from Automaton West and Inven Global stresses this is not Unicorn Overlord 2. IGNISPHERE is also planned for Fujimi Fantasia Bunko light novels and merch. Languages include English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
Why it matters
Noma directed, wrote, designed and programmed on Unicorn Overlord and contributed to 13 Sentinels, Dragon's Crown Pro and Odin Sphere Leifthrasir. The teaser score is by Yoshimi Kudo, with vocals by KOCHO.
What changes in practice
Combat, cast and price are still unannounced. Reports describe Pyros, a fire-linked kingdom, and a hero who fails to protect the royal family. Races include humans, dwarves, harpies, cat-folk, shrimp-folk and oni. Updates should come via the official IGNISPHERE account.
