Night City burns again. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the sequel to the acclaimed anime produced by CD PROJEKT RED and Studio Trigger, officially premiered on Netflix on October 20, 2026, with all ten episodes available at once.
New story, new cast
Unlike the first season that followed David Martinez and his crew, the second season is a standalone story with a brand-new cast: Weak Kingsley (formerly King), D, Roman Carax, and Talia Yang. Directed by Kai Ikarashi, with showrunner and writer Bartosz Sztybor (Hugo Award winner for the first season) and screenplay by Masahiko Otsuka, the series explores themes of redemption and revenge in the chaos of Night City.
The opening theme is "10:15 Saturday Night" by The Cure, and the ending is "Watson" by Petite Meller. Early reviews praise Trigger's animation, the more mature tone, and world-building.
Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077
On the same day as the premiere, CD PROJEKT RED announced the Edgerunners 2 Update (Update 2.5) for Cyberpunk 2077. The free update arrives on October 22, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version following shortly.
Confirmed features include a new dual-wielding playstyle (via the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree, allowing two Power pistols), expanded cyberware customization, and content inspired by the anime. Full details will be revealed today (October 21) during a special REDstreams episode, followed by official patch notes.
