The Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Edgerunners II was released by CD Projekt Red on October 22, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Mac. The Nintendo Switch 2 version arrives in the following days. The free patch brings content inspired by the second season of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix and marks the biggest significant support since Phantom Liberty.
What happened?
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 adds the new side quest "Clampdown", a prologue to Edgerunners 2 events. Unlock it by completing The Heist and two Wakako gigs. There is also "Welcome to Paradise!", a guided Night City tour narrated by Richard Night, unlocked after The Heist and Street Cred 15.
One of the biggest features in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 is dual-wielding Power pistols and revolvers via the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree. Players customize hand cyberware at Glamdocs with skins and decals. New clothing sets, hairstyles, HKGN 102.0 FM radio with anime tracks and cross-platform mod support via mod.io are included, available on Switch 2 as well.
Other improvements: FOV slider on consoles, DLSS 4.5 support, optimizations, fixes (including Switch 2 save) and new tarot cards. More details in the official notes.
Why does this matter?
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 shows CD Projekt Red continues investing in the title years after launch. The Edgerunners 2 link expands the universe and encourages replays. Dual-wielding fulfills a long-standing request, and console mods extend the game's life, especially with Switch 2 arrival.
What changes in practice?
Owners on PC, PS5 or Xbox get Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 automatically. On Switch 2, a few days wait. Modded saves do not earn achievements on consoles. Clampdown quest delivers the King-based set.
